Catriona Gray’s reign is not over yet after Miss Universe as she continues to reign in the causes that she supports, and one of these is her involvement with Smile Train Philippines, a non-governmental organization that provides free surgeries for children with cleft.
As she hopes to give a smile on the faces of the children this 2020, the smile maker herself maximized her special day to advocate for Filipino children born with cleft through fundraising in her social media accounts.
The former Miss Universe's goal is to raise 500,000 pesos that will give free surgery for 36 children with cleft. Seeing situations with a silver lining, Gray has raised an estimated amount of 388,200 pesos that will enable 30 surgeries to children in need.
In Catriona’s visit to Smile Train Philippines’ recent event, she expressed that it was something she could effectively advocate for.
As quoted from her speech, “I’ve always believed that children deserve every chance in the world to achieve their goals and through these surgeries, they are given the opportunity to become more confident and live their lives to the fullest.”
Aside from her personal fundraising, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray continues to be the organization’s Global Ambassador as she represents them by raising awareness about the comprehensive care internationally.
